Based upon probability theory...dont worry about Woodford
SD controls thousands of acres in the Woodford. Devon seems to think the woodford is really good. What is the probability that Devon just happened to buy up all the productive areas in the woodford and SD bought thousands of acres that are not productive. Very, very, very low. SD is consulting with Devon..and its just a matter of time that the Woodford will prove very profitable. imho.
I know of 10 wells permitted in Grant County in the Woodford. 6 by Devon and 4 by SD. Only 2 have reported as completed - 1 by each. The Devon well is the CONRADY 1WH; 19-28N-06W - completed in August. 149bopd 359mcfd.
The SD well is the MARILYN 1-27H; 27-25N-5W - completed September 11; 14bopd 108mcfpd.
agree..SD's expertise is hitting the Miss zones...seldom does any oil company meet with success and top results when first entering a new zone...there are 9 more Woodford's scheduled..so that pretty much seals the deal. I wasn't disappointed by any comments regarding the Woodford and my surprise was the unexpected results (very good) in two Kansas counties which spreads the core area out appreciably. You also note the "roadshow schedule" ? It was a great qtr....JMHO..GLTA
Thanks for the technical information. I am not a geologist so I differ to your expertise. But in my view its very early in SD's exploration program in the Woodford. Just drilling a few wells that did not have good production might not be indicative of its worth because there are thousands of acres involved. imho Good luck
