I feel like people on this board read different press releases. I cant understand how people gather this as SD dumping lawler because he was doing a bad job. Lawler left because he found a better job where he is now top dog. Likely better pay as well.
Clearly BP likes the operational changes lawler(and team) has implemented. SD has been doing some different styles of well completions than BP would be use to doing. Its not lawlers fault the land SD has to work with isnt prime, thats ward. Also, the cost controls SD has implemented are valuable to a shale focused company like BP is trying to create. Face it, SD has set up the infrastructure for 600,000+ acres, thats a very sizeable position, something the size BP would be interested in.
This seems very good that SD is doing the right things to squeeze blood from the stones they have to work with. I think more SD management will be picked off by other companies, as its pretty evident SD isnt really going to far
I am saddened to say you are correct. Guys who has been working in SD is finally realizing that its time to move on. They got the inside knows and is getting out before too late....Unless he knows SD will be sold soon and got out
