Think ole Buffett is watching TRN? ok if not him then one of his folks is. I remember him mentioning Trinity about 4 years ago... interesting times indeed.

    • This would fall into his field of interest. He own a railroad, generates electricity with windmills, he likes the leasing business. Valuation is cheap, but chances of him buying are slim to none. We don't know if this is really on his radar, he would have to make an offer, and management would want to sell. He would only do a friendly deal. If I were management, I wouldn't sell. Management just doesn't own enough shares to get really rich and they would make way more money with options (and future option grants) if the stock keeps rising in the future than a one time pop from Buffett buyout. I wish Buffett would, I am terrible at knowing when to sell.

      Sentiment: Strong Buy

      • Strong Buy? Really? At $50 per?

I know this much: I owned several other companies that rose in the market in the last couple years, and I sold when their P/E's approached 20, thinking they were getting ahead of themselves. Naturally, they have each risen about another 50%, leaving me disgusted with myself. I vow not to make the same mistake here, especially considering that we're still at a P/E of less than 10 for what we're likely to make in 2014.

I'll sell if/when the P/E gets ridiculous, not before. Triple digits. Happy happy happy.
