    Right about Obamacare

Think back to the national debate just before passing the Affordable Care Act. Most of the points raised by those of us in opposition are now magically manifesting themselves right before our eyes.

The bureaucracy in charge is doing its predictably miserable job; we have navigators without any background checks hired to handle confidential information; health insurance rates are skyrocketing; the young and healthy needed to cover the cost are not signing up; and millions of people have had their insurance canceled.

Instead of rational counterarguments, the president's supporters resort to their usual ad hominem debate tactics, calling us racist, heartless, greedy, ignorant, extremists. Because most of the media willingly provided a megaphone for their bile, an unfortunately large number of otherwise decent citizens were duped by their nonsense so a real open debate on the issues never took place. We had to pass it to find out what was in it.

Isn't it time to recognize that those of us opposed to Obamacare from the outset did so because we saw this train wreck coming? Isn't it time to accept the obvious fact that all of us tea party lunatics got it right and the president and his supporters on the left got it wrong?

Or does noticing this monumental failure make me a racist, heartless, greedy, ignorant extremist? Again.

    • Posted by 'amp' - Yet progressives plow ahead wanting to constantly increase federal power at every level. It's an absolute failure in common sense, lacking any understanding of innate corruptibility in the human condition that makes massive centralized power so dangerous, and so absolutely inefficient and costly. There's a lot of truth in the old adage "power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely".
It's the reason why power was granted to states versus the federal government by the founders.
