Ivanhoe Energy, Inc. Message Board

I believe. My reasons for IVAN.

I still believe the following things:

    1. The former founder of OXY did not accept his role as Chairman of IVAN because he hoped to build this from a $1 to $3 stock. Think bigger. Much bigger.

    2. The guy who ran the Voisey Bay stock from $2 to $164 isn't our Deputy Chairman to manage a $3 stock. oh by the way, he could currently buy up the stock in our company at this price about 10 times over. Think bigger. Much bigger.

    3. I believe you don't bring a seasoned team of former OXY senior-most executives into China dealings unless there is a significant sweetener. I believe the properties they are exploring are significant to China. Think bigger. Much bigger.

    4. I believe Warren Buffett is rarely wrong. I believe history has proven that true. I believe when he even counters his own investing philosophy to stake a claim in the China energy sector that it is wise to listen. Think bigger. Much bigger.

    5. I believe the Chairman of China's largest financial conglomerate does not casually make a statement like "I believe Ivanhoe can help us fulfill China's energy needs.". Think bigger. Much bigger.

    6. I believe if this was a pump and dump and not being supported by some legitimate and large buyers, the stock price would have collapsed considerably lower already. Think bigger. Much bigger.

    7. I believe there is enough support and enough going on that they do not need to release news on anyone's time table but their own. I believe the news will come when it is ready and it will take this stock where we want it to go. Think bigger. Much bigger.

    8. I believe when this ball gets rolling, it will be impossible to stop. big deals lead to more big deals. equity financing turns to debt financing (if any financing is needed at all). and analysts pile on the bandwagon. Think bigger. Much bigger.

    9. I believe at this price, a float of 99 million shares will be snapped up by institutions alone once the ball starts moving. It's not a lot of shares. Particularly at this price. Energy funds will find this a compelling stock to own. And they will pay big money to own a big stake. Think bigger. Much bigger.

    10. I believe this stock will see $10 in 18 months. But I believe that is only the beginning. I do not for a second doubt that David Martin and Robert Friedland can turn this company into a powerhouse in the energy sector that deserves a marketcap of $5-10 billion. And my math says this stock will one day go to the $30-60 range. That may take 3-5 years. I will wait. Because I don't think there is another investment out there that has a higher risk/reward ratio. So when people ask "do you think it will be big?" I can only reply "Think bigger. Much bigger."

good luck to everyone. I will not part with my shares for a long while. I will not be the fool that sold his Microsoft for a nice double 12 years ago only to watch his sold shares soar into the millions. Occassionally you meet a keeper. one you cling to and ride til you can ride no more. I believe this is IVAN.

    • Just look at chart from 2003. It is good ???? Nothing but pump for many years. More bagholders.

    • DITO. Fifty in 10 years.very very possible.

    • In 2003 Ernie was quite the prophet with this posting. I see that some of you guys have been posting on this site at that time as well. It's been along ride for you, but you will soon be paid handsomely.

      Thing Big, much BIGGER!

    • Think big, much bigger lol

.....contemplate delisting more like it :-)

    • What Armand Hammer is back from the dead, or are you referring to Ray irani, but why would he leave a million $$/day job at Oxy to join this rag tag outfit of wildcatter's

    • Excellent post!

One question: Where will the price of oil be over the next 5 years? Oil consumption will continue to rise on a macro scale. When the economy recovers, and it will, the price of energy will continue to climb.

Ivan is a great play to ride the wave. I will hold onto my shares for quite some time.
