BCR's recent downturn has caused me to take notice, but I see there hasn't been any postings for quite awhile. I just started looking at this co. and would appreciate some input from those of you who have been following it for awhile. Thanks!
Not sure but my theory is. Since 1990, after the USCI's difficult period, BCR has been a safe harbor during times of higher risk. People parked money here to ride out hard times in other area. It pays a good dividend, has slight growth appeal for different reasons depending on when you look at it (M&A rumors, new product launches etc.) It has had a marvolus run up since 2003 and is at the top of its game right now. I think that some investors are now rotating out because they feel that we are more than 1/2 way through the banking and mortgage problems and they are ready to take more risk in their investments. I don't really see any reason that Bard will not continue to deliver at its historical level and still feel that it is in the right markets for the demographic bubble (that's the next bubble we will need to endure). Anyway that is my humble opinion. BCR is a core holding in my account and not one that I plan to sell. I may however leverage a little more as I too feel the worst is behind us.
