    Goings on at Murray Hill

I'm not even at Bard but the Street has even more recent news. Benson is history as of next week. They would have announced
it sooner but didn't want to take a hit ( and a big hit it is ) in the first quarter. Rumor has it that Tim R. is next.
Surprised ? Not me. John Weiland has been doing his work. Will he be the next COO & Pres ? A Longfield clone except smarter and more
politically astute. Will any of that increase the top line ? Not likely, but it will help the bottom line after adjustments. Just how
many adjustments can be made ? You ain't seen nothin' yet.

    • A year ago Bard announced a disease state initiative that can be defined as extremely successful. They are truly in a state
of disease! Benson Smith's departure may be signalled as a victory by some but when you look at who's left, there is no light
at the end of that tunnel. If Weiland is next in line, there is no improvement there: the only upgrade in him is that he
prefers the penthouse suites at the Ritz soon could assume that he wil have to adjust the Divisions budgets to accomdate the style
      to which he is accustomed.
The Corporate Staff seems really fat these days while the Divisions continue to cut and cut. Double standards, Rank hath its privileges, you bet, field sales people are told not to stay in Marriott due to cost yet certain VIP's get the jets, suites, golf and more. Successful leaders usually roll up their sleeves and get in the trenches with the troops. Maybe that's why George Maloney was so successful.
People are starting to leave the organization for other opportunities, could it be that Bard will get an Oscar for 1998....Titanic II.
