I can't believe how negative many of you are. I appears this message board is full of competitors, former employees that couldn't make it at Bard and future former employees that have negative attitudes. Bard is on the way back and is taking steps to cut cost and improve profits. I know you don't like to hear that if your a competitor or current employee on the way out, but it is the truth. Look at how many times earning Boston Scientific is trading at. Would you rather put your money there? I wouldn't!

Then you're an idiot. BSX has much better long term prospects than "What can I fuck up Now?" Bard.

Yeah I was an employee at Bard for two years. I was also the #7 rep in the country one year and the #1 rep the following year and I can tell you that Longfield was/is a corporate limp dick who should have been whacked years ago along with his drunken sidekick, Benson Smith. All these guys wanted to do is use the corp. jet to fly around the country and play the best golf courses (true story). Oh yeah, they took their families too. Great use of co. money. Hey, remember Pilotwire? paid $38MM for a technology that cardiologists said IT WOULD NOT WORK!!!. Paul LaViolette bought it anyway (and then left the company, of course). We sold about 500 units at the cost of $120 ea. You do the math, Einstein. The stockholders should revolt against this perpetual dog of a comapny. they deserve better. So don't give me your whining (your a sucky investor if you bought Bard, I've made a sweeet little profit on expensive ol' BSX). I've lived it, made it in a totally dysfunctional company and dumped 'em because I'm smart. Do some homework, numbnuts. Otherwise quit yer shilling for this excrement company. Out...
Although he is offensive, Choppy does raise some valid points. Don't lose sight of them due to his stench.
Firstly, although USCI was 10 years ago, some of the effects are still being felt every day. Ignoring the people who left, the company is still saddled with all of the incredibly suffocating procedures, policies, and attitudes that were instilled at corporate to prevent a re-occurrence. All device companies are bureaucratic, Bard is the benchmark.
Secondly, I hear a lot of enthusiasm on the board. It is obvious that the company has mounted a counter-offensive. That is a good thing. However, as those of who dabble in software know only to well, "vapor ware" isn't worth much. BARD has been making a lot of promises to change the way it does business for quite a few years. They have yet to deliver.
Thirdly, until you change the culture "at the top" the results will be the same. "Garbage in, Garbage Out" (sorry for the software analogies, but it is what I do). Thus, until there is some CONCRETE, TANGIBLE change at the top we would all do well to wait and see.
Now, in anticipation of the flood of "Get off the board you whining bastard" responses, why do I care? I have friends who work for the company and I agree that it could be a very good company. I am "waiting and seeing" in the hopes that I will knwo when the time to jump back in is. Unfortunately, I am not convinced that that time has come yet.
You are right on hotrod4400. I stated the same thing on Yahoo a month ago. I was told to grow up. Attitude is what will turn Bard around. These people who are bad mouthing are not the ones we want anyway. They are part of the problem, we are part of the solution!!!
Well, for what its worth, I'm with you two as well....this board seems extremely unbalanced....so much negative...a lot of it is just hype and discontent....sounds more like personal problems....I believe Bard is doing what it can to move in the right direction....we shall see!
