Yesterday Aegion announced its planned acquisition of 2,000-employee Brinderson, L.P. for $150M. Brinderson is a leading integrated service provider of maintenance, construction, engineering and turnaround activities for the upstream and downstream oil and gas markets. According to Brinderson's CEO: The transformation of the United States energy market towards self-reliance is expected to bring significant investment in the refining and petrochemical segment. As a partner with Aegion, Brinderson is well positioned to assist its clients with this anticipated growth."
Previously, Brinderson Holdings was looking to acquire strategic add-ons for their Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company. They have a strategic focus of adding companies with an emphasis on electrical and instrumentation, maintenance and engineering, or specialized niche, with revenues between $10M-$50M. For engineering companies, they were interested in firms located in Bakersfield, HOUSTON, San Francisco, or in Southern California.
Interesting to see if Brinderson/Aegion would consider a firm like ENG.
