Saw som tv talking head saying cnq actually has large natural gas reserves although everyone thinks of the company as just oil. A large nat gas position has not helped much in last 2-4 years but is ultimately a good thing. Now one reads on other boards that large equipment makers are looking at nat gas drivin machines. One post said Caterpillar is looking at making some of its larger machines to run
on nat gas to take advandage of low gas prices. Of course there are some buses run on cng, but looks like some ofthe large open pit machines might actually be run on lng.
Two lng plants have been given export liscenses from the Canadian government on the west coast. in todays news Reuters:"Canadian lng project finds buyer for its gas" says golar (glng), partner to buy lng from Canadian project. apparently golar and partner lng partners llc have agreed to buy all of the expected 7000,000 tonnes of lng from the proposed Douglas Channel project start up in 2015. So export of lng from north america should start to help nat gas producers recover along with prices. hopefully it will be in time to save some of the small nat gas producers, suffering with weak prices. so it starts. 2013 could be the year to buy nat gas stocks,
