    Hey Bob, have you noticed

Noticed frank302 is in NYC - After following this
board for six months or so, I have noticed that there
are two 7/11's - those "stand alone" urban locations,
and those in more rural or suburban locations with
gas stations. I can speak from experience in the
urban SF Bay area, that 7/11's have Location, Location,
Location! Most are in high foot traffic areas, or in small
strip malls with high volume traffic. The two I shop at
(at least twice a week) are very responsive to local
customer needs and seasonal needs - I can even buy
firewood in the winter. Many people on this board have
mentioned that there is a lot of competition from the oil
companies - but if 7/11 keeps expanding in cities (Also
more locations in Japan) the "oil company" factor may
not be that significant in the future. I have also
been to 7/11's in Madrid (Spain) and Hong Kong - all
    were very busy.

    • - glad 7-11 is doing so well on the West
      Coast

      - Here in NJ/NY, a lot of them need to be
refurbised & turned around. The "Wawa" chain is the model.
But all the Wawa's are company owned.

      - But
over time, I hope 7-11 mngt closes in the gap.
