Clearly--education did not make you very smart. Romney was criticized for Bain Capital cutting jobs throughout the campaign but it seems you (supporting Obama) feel it is OK for Stryker to acquire and then cut jobs. Perhaps advanced degrees add more confusion to a simple mind. Job cuts are job cuts regardless of Dem. or Repub.
I do feel it is OK to acquire and then cut jobs to increase corporate efficiency and promote synergies. I don't feel it is OK to acquire, take out a loan from the acquisition to pay you back for the acquisition cost, and then have the company ship the jobs overseas so it can pay back the loan. Those are nothing more than bookkeeping tricks which generate nothing of real value, but instead just shift the profits from one pocket to another.
I also don't feel it is OK to acquire, cut jobs, and then blame the cuts on something else like Obamacare.
Sooooo investing --short and long-in the stock market is OK and generates real value? Real value is when I invest and I make money. It is not my responsibility to "save the worker". It is my responsibility to care for my family, legally, and not be a financial burden on the taxpayers.or society. Obamacare, since you brought it up, will add 3.8% to my tax and exactly how does that help me and my family? Again, is it my responsibility to care for everyone who could care less about me and my family? Don't impose someone else's personal beliefs on me and then make me pay for them.
Sorry to disagree but I believe healthcare with Obama's plan is much like American Education. We spend more than every other country and don't get the results for the cost. Currently American students rank 25th in Math etc. That, in my opinion, is a disgrace and followed closely by our healthcare debacle. America is wasting taxpayer money at an unstainable rate--and you seem OK with the results. Why don't we pay for all of the costs of the Sandy storm so homeowners can rebuild only to be flooded again. First Irene and we paid, now Sandy and we pay again. How many times should the taxpayer buck up?America need s more individula responsibility and in the end a return on the investment. Individual beliefs are fine but should I have to pay for your personal beliefs. The buck has to stop somewhere, sometime. Is there no individual ownership anymore--or just handouts. Sure seems true of education and healthcare.
