Given this, I believe that McD's will mop the floor with Starbucks. They can leverage their food business to offer café items at prices that will demolish Starbucks' market share.
I expect that McD's growth this year and next in the US alone, recession or not, will be above what we've seen in years. Moreover, with a $100 million ad campaign, it only looks better and better. Now if they can just capture Starbucks' branding cachet as well.
