MCD declined and it's peers are going straight up because I sold YUM and bought MCD 3 weeks ago. After buying MCD I found the CEO Jim Skinner is quitting. Thinking the transition would be smooth I bought more MCD than found news that the new CEO may not have enough international experience to compete with rival Yum Brands. I'm sorry if my purchase caused all this - It sure seems MCD will continue to decline until I sell my 200 shares.
Your bogus notion of " you haven't lost anything, till you sell" doesn't say much for the shareholders who had the same mentality...if RIMM had paid dividends..that would've beenpeanuts lost vs share price
McDonald's has raised its dividend each and every year since paying its first dividend in 1976. Starting in 2008, dividends are paid on a quarterly basis.
On September 22, 2011, McDonald's Board of Directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.70 per share of common stock payable on December 15, 2011 to shareholders of record on December 1, 2011.
