I used to be addicted to the Big Mac, but all the advertising in the world will never convince me to pay nearly $4 for a Big Mac. Let see, I can get a much larger Super Star with Cheese or a Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger at Carl's Jr for the same price. No comparison. The price on the Filet-O-Fish is even more ridiculous. McD's is no longer even close to being competitive for these menu items on price in our bad economy and the stupid management is still clueless why their sales are down. The only smart thing they have done is a past 2 years was bring their price on their Chicken McNuggets back to earth. When I do go to McDonalds I get either the 20 piece McNuggets for $4.99 or a McChicken from the dollar menu. Most everything else other than the $1 drink is overpriced including the paper thin meat in the McDouble.

Both Carls and McDonalds are no better than the AM/PM minimarts heat lamp 39 cent burgers.
In and Out burgers are the best.
I wont settle for McDonalds soybean mixed with horsemeat mixed with other grotesque non beef product Big Macs that has 10% at max or Carl's heartburn grease burgers that have a funky taste.
cjmaranto - WOW - Fat boy or girl, you sure got your facts together on the junk food. Please keep us posted on this #$%$. I want to know for sure where to invest my BLOOMBERG AND KING ODRAMA FREE STUFF DOLLARS. I sold my ODRAMA phone and bought 300 more for two dollars from these morons, so I got the bucks to invest, waiting for more of your GREAT INFORMATION.
I ate tons of big macs in the 60's, havent had one in 30 years. I think their burgers are too expensive too. Try a double double from in and out and you will see a great fast food burger. imo.
Fast Food is quickly, I'd say within the last 7 years becoming way way too expensive. A meal for almost 10 dollars ........ please. I only buy from the dollar menu. Those burgers are not worth the 6 bucks or whatever they are charging people.
[Why is McD advertising the grossly overpriced Big Mac?] -- it's a big money maker!
But if you think the McDouble is over-piced, think again! The McDouble contains twice as much meat as the original McDonalds hamburger, which was sold for 15 cents as late as 1965. Adjusted for inflation, 15 cents in 1965 is equivalent in purchasing power to $1.11 today. So the McDouble today is a much better deal than the original 15 cent hamburger. The Big Mac is not a better deal today than in 1967 when it was sold for 49 cents. Adjusted for inflation 49 cents in 1967 is equivalent in purchasing power to $3.41 today. So buy two McDoubles for only $2.00 -- it's huge value compared to nearly $4.00 for a Big Mac. Incidentally, the Big Mac today has the same amount of beef as the original Big Mac and it also contains the same amount of beef as one McDouble.
I don't know where you buy your McDouble, but the hamburger patties are 1/2 as thick as they used to be. This is true for the hamburger, cheeseburger and Big Mac. So you are not really comparing Apples to Apples. The only sandwich that is the same is the Quarter Pounder for obvious reasons. Even the Filet-O-Fish is different. You notice, you only get a 1/2 a slice of cheese on it when it used to be a full slice. Wake up. You are being scammed.
