amazing, i wrote back in November that McDonalds would probably split after hitting 100 and maintaining that price for a month. Still no stock split, its flatline. If it split to 50, i'm sure it would be trading at around 65 by now
I think MCD has peaked out. I was a big fan of it and investor five years ago. People are now looking for a different experience. The big innovation at MCD is in the past now. THey did a nice job with the remodels. I spend lots of time on the road and frequent them in different parts of the country. But the renovations of restaurants has already taken place in 95% of locations. The expanded coffee and smoothee menu is in the past now. Now their biggest innovation is an egg white omlette. I order some healthier stuff like Fruit Parfaits and oatmeal and can't bag on them too much but the competition is getting closer to competing now vs. in the past when MCD blew them all away. More upscale restaurants will do better going forward in this economy. In our area In n Out Burger is expanding and I noticed big crowds and the MCD crowds next door were down a bit. Some people will go and utilize the dollar menu but when it comes to paying much higher prices for burgers etc they will go to other places before paying $7-8 for a burger/fry combo. Healthier concepts will take share from them. Other concepts like burritios and quick serve Asian will do better. With all that said would like to get a chance to buy this in the 80's and hope they do well in Asian economies with their expansion.
Yes, your right. I see PFE market Cap. and J&J and many others with market caps. over 200 Billion and MCD has very little competition in it space not like the others and the market cap. of MCD is 1/2 or 3/4 less. MCD also make more money and has great dividends where I will re-invest for the future. Good Luck To All!
