I give it 2 years or less. Is MCDs committing one of the AGE OLD SINS of the food industry by trying to become EVERYTHING TO EVERYONE? I only ask because this causes the need for investory expansion which drives up risk through higher costs, all the way around.
Some say decide what and who you are, and then become the best at what you do! What was wrong with Big Macs, cheeseburgers/hamburgers, fries, soft drinks, and shakes? Okay, I'll add in the Egg McMuffin as well as the new coffee/frozen drinks.
I'll be fair, I will try some wings from MCDs but I seriously doubt MCDs will ever become a destination place for its wings. Oh and if offering them because someone in that car that just pulled up wants wings instead of a burger........well..........I reiterate my point above!
Granted, nuggets are chicekn and maybe MCDs has decided its more profitable to keep and sell the wings than to process them for nuggets! I don;t know but really?
I think MCDs is missing the whole deal with the resurgence of a quality, innovation, botique type burger like WENs pretzel, bacon, cheeseburger............I mean seriously MCDs, how hard was that move by WEN?
Oh well, when does MCDs offer sliced pizza at the drive-thru? COME ONE! STOP IT!
How about food service trucks? I can see it now- bright red trucks with the golden arches painted on the sides coming to the kids baseball/soccer games, construction sites, business parks, etc. Ready to make you that fresh Big Mac and fries! Another revenue stream...
