Ackman did a big power point on why he is bullish on residential real estate, he and Berkowitz were co-investors in GGP...read the article on Berkowitz that calls him the brain of Miami and you will see that Ackman has his cellphone number.
if there is an acquisition, Ackman would be a logical partner here, esp with the profits from GGP and his view on res. real estate
ackman sucks. he dropped a couple hundred million on his target fund??? how quickly this disaster is forgotten. ackman should go work for the rehore organization. they think it is a good time to BUY/SELL houses all the time.lol!
Yeah I actually had the same thought. Ackman is something like 25% owner of Howard Hughes Corp, which is all of the undeveloped / speculative junk spun out of GGP. It amounts to a large-scale commercial real estate work-out.
JOE fits somewhat into this category with both residential and commercial properties. However, I don't see Ackman paying a pretty penny for JOE, I think part of the reason he got involved with Howard Hughes Corp is that he got it pretty cheap because he owned some of GGP.
