Nickel Coins to $120 Gold $16000 Silver $8000

Best part is you can buy nickels for a nickel and there is unlimited upside. So you have a free put at 5 cents. Bought several $100 boxes this week, and will add 1/week until I have 1000 $100 boxes. Also, once in a while you find a WW2 silver nickel in the rolls. They are worth $1.50 each.

    • If you value your time at minimum wage or less and have the available time nickels may be for you.

    • First, I understand exactly the idea here. It's as if you could buy a 1 ounce gold coin with a face value only slightly below where gold is currently trading. If gold falls, you lose almost nothing because of the face value. If gold goes up, you gain because of the increased melt value.

The problem I have when it comes to nicles is practicality.

How much does each of those $100 boxes weigh? 20 pounds?

So 1000 of them would weigh 20,000 pounds. That's 10 tons. The equivalent weight of like 5 cars. Where do you park that?

I'm not sure about the volume calculation but I assume it would take up considerable space too.

How practical is it to get a $100 box of nickles? Can I just walk in to any bank and get one? Or do I have to be at a big bank in the middle of NY City?

      • Most banks have and will sell you $100 dollar nickel boxes, which each have 50 $2 rolls. Perhaps 1% of the coins are WW2 silver nickels, worth about $1.50 each. Another 1 or 2% are numismatic collectables. Storing is no problem, if you have a large garage that is fairly secure, or a secure storage locker. This is a hobby that could pay big in the future. Most of my coin wealth is in silver (not gold) at the moment.
