Lots of our 30 year tresuries are paying 6%++ because they were created during a time when Interest rates were higher.. If we pritnted money to pay off those bonds and retire them later, it would force the bondholders to roll them over @ 3.1 %..

better yet stamp one coin with $15 trillion on it. Then hand it to anyone who can be verified to hold $3.2 trillion of our currency.

Charge them interest at 10% on the extra 11.8 trillion until they return change.
