    What the hell

Market is up and this is down.
Market is down and this is down.
Market is flat and this is down.
This is down in all cases. So what kind of fund is this?

    • goofy_investor, it's not just this bond fund but almost all bond funds that are lower. This was bound to happen sooner or later. It doesn't bother me because I don't intend to sell any of this fund in the near future. i am in it for the dividends and long term record.... I have a large amount of my retirement in this fund.

      • This isn't supposed to be a "bond" fund - it's supposed to be an "all assets" fund that can get out of bonds when all the signals are pointing against them, like they are right now. I have to wonder whether the adviser is more loyal to Bill Gross than to the shareholders, and is letting PAAIX "share the pain" that would otherwise fall exclusively on PIMCO's core bond funds. One way or another, this fund isn't behaving the way that it should, and my patience with paying a premium management fee for this thing is wearing thin.
