If Emagin claims their displays are like watching HDTV, why there is no talk about people using such glasses with Oled displays to watch TV? I think millions of people would not mind buying such glasses for $200 instead buying 60" tv for $1000. Am I missing something?
i agree ... it seems to be that z800's would be great for anyone on a train or plane to watch full screen movies
in private , from phone , tablet or whatever ... also home viewing would be enhanced .. it's been mystery
to me why this segment hasn't latched on yet ... unit cost maybe ?? I'm sure that if some airline wanted
to offer such as a perk , they could buy some volumes and get a decent price ... garce
i haven't been able to figure that one for a few years now ... seems to me that many commuters / travellers
would like to attach a z800 to some device and watch a movie on a "big screen" ... they are a tad
expensive , but a slick guy could probably sell an airline on the idea that they could supply z800's as
part of the flying experience .... some things just are not easy to figure out ..
also , the porn community should be all over these .. having a 3d experience in their own digs .....
Sony and Zeiss make HMDs now for viewing media, Sony makes their own displays for their HMD, Zeiss as of now uses displays from a small French producer, we know other companies are developing media viewers as well, eMagin's display are technically superior to both of these, headsets with eMagin displays are being developed now. You are missing nothing, matter of time.
A ‘Cool’ light weight design
The screens must be of sufficiently high resolution to give a ‘WOW’ factor
It must be wifi, you cannot be ‘cool’ with wires hanging from your head
You need about 8 hours battery life if it is to be portable
The price must not be high, preferably not above $500.-
I do not think we are technically/commercially there yet.
