DHA correlated with LDL;EPA Not--Analysis of JELIS data by Itakura in 2012 J.Atheroscler.Thromb.
Jelis data was analyzed by Itakura -not involved in JELIS original study in 1999-2005.
Their 2 article in 2011 and 2012:
1) DHA correlated with LDL-- higher DHA leads to higher LDL
2) EPA not correlated with LDL--higher EPA does not raise LDL. (remember Jelis used 1.8 gram/day of additional EPA for Japanese who eat .250gram/day of EPA in diet.
3) REDUCTION in CVD due to INFLAMMATION--used EPA/AA ratio for Placebo using 10mg./day of Zocor or pravastatin versus Statin with 96% EPA-Epadel
