I just don't understand big business ??? ... GE is investing 2/3 billion dollars in R & D re: 3 - D printing ... wouldn't it have been cheaper to buy EXONE, and have that research already built in ??? ... of course I am a EXONE holder, and I am hoping for a buy-out from GE ... EXONE does fit with GE's exploration ... it's not over until the fat lady sings ... IMVHO
GE, with a market cap of $215B, probably has the resources to buy my shares, one way or another.
But ExOne isn't looking for a buyout. This is a company with outstanding growth prospects and a great future. They've just been public for a few months and have barely begun to realize their potential. Wait til they've doubled a few times.
GE stock is worth half of Xone's so how would a GE buyout be beneficial to XOne stock holders? Unless you bought your Xone stock at less than, say, $27? I don't think Ge's stock price is gonna run to $60 on an Xone buyout. And, so you may get xtra shares of GE to compensate but , so what?
You have to understand that GE has over 15 BILLION shares outstanding, and EXONE has just over 13 MILLION shares outstanding ... its the price of GE multiplied by the number of shares that makes GE a monsterous company ... if you were to reverse divide GE shares to 15 million, you would then realize the tremendous value of GE , if it were at EXONE's level ...
