So regarding this joint venture with Azure, how many buses are we talking about? They plan to build a factory in China to manufacture FC buses, so my guess would be that we are talking about a lot of buses. Am i understanding this correctly? So how many buses in Beijing alone?
Any deployment is bound to be no more than 20, maybe even less, to start. I am sure there are over 5,000 buses in Beijing alone (probably 3x that amount), but that is besides the point. Personally, I look to Europe's controlled, sustained, rollout. It is well planned, involves 12+ cities, and is already a work in progress. There are dozens of european projects in progress, some national, some funded EU wide through the EC. They are introducing buses as the fueling becomes available, fueling infrastructure is part of the planning, and they are already well underway.
In addition, the Europeans actually pay for stuff. The Chinese have a funny way of not. Dollars to doughnuts, Azure is a straw man, and they are busy ripping apart Ballard's fuel cell stacks and reverse engineering them.
