Honda will develop its own fuel cells

    somebody wrote
"For their sake, I hope Ballard has broad, rock-solid patents, because my faith in the courts has been steadily eroding from O.J. to Bush and, let's face it, patent law can be a bit vague and hard to enforce. The fuel cell, after all, was invented a long, long time ago, and IFC, GM, Honda, and everyone and their brothers are making PEM's now."

The U.S. is actually one of the most patent-friendly countries in the world. Countries in the far east are not as respectful of international patent laws. Don't expect BLDP to make much money off of Hondas' patent infringements.

Also, as I said before BLDP's business plan is inherently low profit margin.
    - they do not have the ability to sell their product direct to customers, but instead sell them to very large and greedy corporations (GM, Ford, etc.)
    - they will have fierce price competition from low cost internal combustion engines, until the day that ICE's are effectively outlawed by environmental regulations.
