Yes, it does appear that Mickey, snug on his yacht in Miami with ample hot coffee in his golden cup, is the main culprit in this saga.
Why does he hire foreign crews at cheaper prices that line his pockets?
Why does he not maintain his fleet up to industy standards?
Why does he not design backup emergency propulsion power into the ships he commands?
Why is he still such a skinflint about the lack of fudge issue?
This ship had problems weeks before the fire, the cruise that came to port on Jan 28th had already lost the main propulsion engine,,, we left out on this ship many hours later on the same day (28th) with $65 credit because we could only make it to one port,,,,,took almost 2 1/2 days bobbing to Progresso,,,,stayed there over night, waiting on a part, and still only bobbed back to Texas...crew was just as disappointed as the cruisers. $65 was a slap in the face to what we went through....
All guests on the current Carnival Triumph voyage will receive a full refund of the cruise, along with transportation expenses. In addition, they will receive a future cruise credit equal to the amount paid for this voyage, as well as reimbursement of all shipboard purchases during the voyage, with the exception of gift shop and casino charges.
Carnival is having major problems with all these fires in the last couple of years and then the sinking last year of Costa. I see a major shakeup in this company because lack of maintance in the engine rooms of all Carnival ships will get a lot of people hurt.
