CCL is not immune, they just have very limited liability. You can thank the transatlantic voyage disasters for rules that now protect ship owners & operators. Very outdated rules and very different than airline "common carrier" international flight rules.
Exactly! People will get their money back and will be given a free cruise in the future. All travel expenses and a couple of nights in a hotel. All settled for less than $10 million. Clean-up and repair? Who knows, this ship was probably due for a drydock stay anyway.
