Certainly within the realm of possibility. The price is ripe and Kinross’s development assets would help Barrick grow its gold production by more than 30 per cent through 2016, compared to less than 20 per cent without them. Let's watch and see if anything develops . . .
I think I remember when Kinross was at book value, articles were stating that Kinross was too expensive to buy from a peer, that it would have to be a private equity firm. Does ABX have the cash to buy them? Kinross is pretty huge.
Speculation, for sure, on my part; however, I would welcome the proposal . . . Anybody got anything fresh to contribute to this string? Absolutely can't find anything new to add to this conversation other than what has already transpired and/or been written on the topic this past spring and summer. GLTA.
Regardless of ABX taking KGC out, the price is ridiculously low and is undervalued by 50 %. I see 17-19/share in the cards. I hope everyone bought when price was in 7s and 8s like I banged the table at the time. KGC is one of the cheapest gold mining asset out there by far.
