    • Gas? Where are all those "LNG" gas cars? The only hybreds I hear of is gasoline-BATTERY cars. Gee, I wonder how all those batteries are getting recharged. From coal fired power plants, maybe?

Actually, as an owner of a Honda Civic Hybrid, I can tell you the battery is charged BOTH (1) as the car accelerates and (2) as it decelerates.

Coal isn't used in either function.

Incidentally I AM BULLISH on coal.

      • hey.one hundred coal burners have been scutteld in the u.s. because of uncertain future for clean energy programs.and coal mining overburden is becoming an issue.costly issue.buffet bought that dang railroad as a play against rising oil prices.he said it was a century out deal.a centry from now.when obama is deported or in three years we get a republican pres. the coal unions will have no protection and ngas and nuclear will win the day freind.met coal is a good buy though.

    • really, gas. What is the time frame for everything to be converted to gas? sounds expensive, I mean pretty much the whole world runs on coal. I just dont see that happening anytime soon, and environmental policies that deal with carbon emissions are on the back burner. But are the alternative energy stocks rising?, no.
So lets use some common sense, and make some money in the short run. All developing countries are in need of energy and the cheapest source is coal, and these other developing countries have a much larger population. Also Warren Buffet even has his money on coal.
But your probably smarter then the Oracle, so everyone should listen to you, or you should go get hit by bus on your way to work so your family can collect your insurance money, since you lost all you cash when the market went down because of all you great trading ideas.
