still shipping 190,000 tons of coal a day. Psssssst...Peabody ships through Dalrymple. NORTH GOONYELLA-EAGLEFIELD-MILLENNIUM andBURTON ALL MINE MET COAL. They ship through Dalrymple. Port Kembla did not close either. BTU's mine METROPOLITAN ships from there. The way CNBC has been reporting this story, you would think they could get the facts. Brisbane had the major flooding and Willis creek mine(all thermal coal) feeds in to that port. fyi
Read Rueters articles and do your own math. The port ran out of coal once. They had huge stockpiles. Now if I am reading all the articles correctly they never mention Peabody's mines being affected. They do mention BHP and others. Seems to me that since BTU is such a huge expoter that they would mention them. I have been through 30 or more articles and never saw a closing of BTU mine. Do your own work. I cannot load all 30 plus articles. However, I did read about their huge stockpile that have been depleted. If you can find 1 article that says BTU was affected please tell me where.
Dont you think the writer of the article (or writers of all 30 that read) would have found it intriguing or important to mention that BTU was operating uneffected to the floods. Just because you didnt read it doesnt mean it wasnt the case!
