I'd say your 10% estimate is in the ballpark, at least this year. Inflation measures are used as a political football here in the US, so one has to look at them skeptically.
I locked in electricity rates with my utility about 9 months ago, with an option to renew. Electricity is less a concern than NG, particularly this winter.
I've considered going long CPN as sort of a long-dated call. Yesterday, BONY announced they were in litigation with CPN regarding some sub debt holders. So I'm staying away until that's settled.
I agree. Here in the Boston area things will be pretty darn cold this winter. Good for us Canroy investors, bad for us NG buyers.
