Solar not paying off yet for Nevada military
Solar panels not paying off yet for Nevada military; contingency funds to pay utility bills....

    • Actually --- Solar is working just fine, but it cannot compete with the gas powered turbines.. Were those military panels set up to replace the grid or provide a speculative on site cost and product edge? What if cost of electric power doubled as some predicted was about to happen?

      ---

With the sudden (or so it does seem in relative terms of 5 to 10 years) discovery of so much Natural Gas, cheep sources of power have changed the elect. power landscape..

The driving force that was pushing cost of power higher, is now only causing pain to those who hold speculative positions in natural gas.. That too will change again, if?

100 years worth of natural gas is a really amazing number.
It's not as cheep as gravity, but it truly relative cheep source of energy that can be delivered close to need, without problems associated with nukes, coal, or long route transmission lines...

If gas finds use in trucks, trains, and other modes of transportation - prices will rise really fast!

Strength is in alternatives. Like opinions, more than something to fight about, diversity is simply a smarter more resourceful way to solve problems, organize, and evolve..

The financial gains promised from it are hogwash, you yourself said so and THAT was the point of the article.

Solar sucks anyway, it's not an efficient or 'green' method to produce energy. What's contained inside the panels is extremely toxic.
