First of all I'm sorry to tell you, but small investors here are not going to influence the vote. It's sad I know, but it's the truth. Institutional power will get the job done. You may as well just accept it and figure out how you plan to make money off of it. If you don't want any part of this, then sell your stock.
Given your seemingly short term horizons, I don't think most of you would be able to handle the loss your stock would take if the deal didn't go through. If you remember you guys were below 40 before the deal was announced. Remind yourselves how much of a bump you got the day the deal was announced :)
Most of you seem to think that REM would have been immune to the ridiculous drop in all energy stocks. As Oldwatchdog pointed out, REM would have suffered just as much. Without the deal where are you guys, maybe 30$ per share? This deal has already saved many of you once.
Also this deal is NOT A HOSTILE TAKEOVER. Obviously REM management sees the benefits of this deal. If you don't have faith in your management's understanding of this deal and think you know better than they, I suggest you sell your stock.
I personally am snatching up as much CDIS as I can.
