Can Jimmie Wade thru the Groceries?

Jimmie is one of the builders of Advance for past decade or so. Many of the top "autoparts guys" have left in the past twelve months and now the top Grocery Guy is gone and replaced by a temp Grocery Guy until what ? May be until they can steal a guy from Piggly-Wiggly? Jimmie recently exercised and sold some serious stock in Feb. That concerns me.If Jimmie goes next; this stock must be about to hit a wall. If he gets the shot to lead; we may have an auto parts company after all. Riggy

    • YES he can! Smart move by Mr. Jackson by putting Wade in lead commercial role. Wade's long history with the company plus his hard learning lesson with the AI acquisition and perceived respect by the Street makes him an excellent choice. It almost seems as if Mr. Jackson is using the "Good to Great" book as his play book...... if you get the right people on the bus, you can always change their seats. Bottom line; Nice move! Riggy

    • If they don't do some drastic stuff real soon instead of as you say "rearranging the shelf" this POS will be the next Montgomery-Ward

    • There was one positive remark made by an analyst during the con call - " Jimmy its nice to be hearing from you again " Beware Grocery Boys there may well be a leader among you who knows how to fix the refrigerant compressors and the Street seems to trust him also. That's a fact Jack! So as a director, may be you should start directing some of your attention to the people whom truely understand the business and the company as well. Makes more sense to me than gambling on another guy who can re-arrange a shelf. Riggy

Looks like Jimmy is doing more than running AI. Did you know that print is dead?

    • Can someone tell me when AAP is going to join every other retailer in the world and use EAS (Electronic Article Surveillance) or anti shoplifting equipment? They are one of the only major retailers to not use this technology and they are in a market that gets hit hard by shoplifters. Autozone is 100% chain wide with this technology as is Pep Boys, if I'm a thief I'll skip over those and head to Advance. With 4.6 Billion in sales, if they are losing 2% a year to theft, the amount of money they are losing by not using this technology is staggering! Name a big time retailer who doesn't use it, the only one I can think of in the United States is Advance Auto Parts. Are they that clueless or do they think all the other retailers are wrong?

    • Being responsible for business devlopment would make acquisitions one of his primary responsibilities. That doesn't mean he's not at AAP.

    • Yeah..then the guy you know can tell you that he is assigned to API.

    • Farts are our most important parts ? I guess you went to an advance store and bought pickles & reeses cups.

    • I agree also. Has anyone seen PK at a meeting? No personality at all. It's like listening to a eulogy when he speaks.
