Questions for you:
1. How did AAP do before these guys arrived? For those who think they are vastly superior, what explains your performance, and if you want to blame others for your own results and your company's results, why don't you hold yourself accountable -- are you simply a victim?
2. If you're playing the "I'm superior and I'm a victim" what does your attitude say about who and what you are? If you had employees with this attitude, what actions would you take?
3. How are things going now?
4. What did these guys accomplish in their past roles?
Everyone has choices. Choose wisely about what you're going to support and what you're going to obstruct. And remember who suffers most when there are palace coups.
In every company, those who fight management should have enough money to last until such time as they find other employment because the odds are that it will be needed.
Jackson & Freeland are former BBY execs, and the point of the hires has absolutely nothing to do with your comments. My belief is they are attempting to implement business models, processes & procedures, that had proven successful in the turnaround of BBY and simply are hiring key managers, directors, etc that has this knowledge rather then to go through a 6 mo - 1year learning curve.
However, as we know, this has failed at Circuit City doing the same thing, where they brought in over 30 former BBY people.
A Palace coup is one in which the sudden and decisive change of government illegally or by force is carried out by individuals in positions of authority who are themselves part and parcel of the ruling regime. In other words, one group of members of the Palace court seizes control from another group while the people look on.
Franklee, are the people looking on the shareholders? Frankly, are they happy or sad?
Well, the 11 former BB employees combined with the 2 remaining AAP employees (who did not get let go - does anyone wonder why? Was it a conspiracy?) It certainly is not because they have done anything outstanding at AAP - the red haired, grocery store jock, with NO auto parts experience. He does, though, have experience selling pickles at Food Lion, and the former accountant, or billing clerk, not sure which, again, with NO auto parts experience. Both, though, can wield a knife, with precision, and are raking in the dough at $ 500,000 per year + bonus. This group, 11 + 2 = 13, Lucky or unlucky? Shareholders PLEASE respond!
Food Lion pickles dont have the same character as AAP pickles. And the Cashews are great. I wonder if they have a water pump in stock ? Doesn't matter just give me my pickle and nuts and I'll be on my way. I can pick up the water pump at pep boys or Napa
Mid..Mid...Mid...You shock me..I believe that you well know why these
guys are being brought in.. It is part of the pickle replacement plan.
These troops will fan out across
our great nation and will place T.V.
sets in prime locations thru-out the
stores. The plus sales will put AAP
on top of the heap. Each store will have a direct line to the Geek Squad
for the installation and set-up of each set. The customer will also recieve a package of coupons for the
large can of salted peanuts and one oil filter of their choice.
This new guy is really "sharp"..Sorry I just could'nt pass that one up...
