One outfit that AIRT is not getting any respect from is Value Line. They have rated AIRT 5 (lowest) for performance.
Value Line rankings seem to be mostly momentum based or trend following. So, have a bad quarter and you get knocked down. However, it looks like a lot of posters on this board are value investors and in it for a longer term. I am in that category too. Buy them when they are cheap.
Some might have been some disappointment over the lack of details in the size of the contract. Still a lot of ifs. <available funding> Made my day though. I was able to buy some in quantity today with confidence going forward.
>The contract award is for one year commencing September 28, 2010, with four additional one-year extension options that may be exercised by the United States Air Force. The value of the contract, as well as the number of units to be delivered, will be determined based upon annual requirements and available funding of the United States Air Force.
I provided the details of the contract. About $100,000 is immediately allocated.
No matter how you look at this contract it is a positive. It shows that AIRT can compete and win DOD contracts. It underscores AIRT's solid relationship with the AF. It also enhances AIRT's reputation in the industry as a full service ground support company who can deliver quality products.
AIRT the company has to be distinquished from AIRT's performance in the stock market. There always seems to be a disconnect and shareholders have not as yet) stood to realize the benefits.
Patience is a virute.
The seller is still looking to unload. I bought another 1500 more today. I now own 110,000+ shares.
