Also, not everyone plays online out of the gate. And the reviews are in that the single player mode is awesome so those not even into the server stuff yet, may not only be enjoying it but letting their friends know.
This game will undoubtedly pick up momentum. Previous versions weren't that great but this one has received great reviews and I see advertising everywhere.
