I just came across this stock after noticing its fantastic dividend... then, I looked at the sector and it seems to have come down a lot from its highs... What does MLP stand for? Thanks!
Re to prince"What does MLP stand for?"It stands for $$$ in the bank. PAA is not 10 years old so have to use only 9 years.+510% in 9 years, or average +22.2% per year for the 9 years. I have owned it just over 4 years and my gain is +94.6% without compounding, and without the payout due in 2 days. But these returns are for the secret society of investors. You are welcome to join.Happy investing. And by the way, there is an index AMZ index of MLP's which has 50 in the index.http://www.alerian.com/insight.html-chart-Also look at the posts on KMP, ETP, EPD.http://www1.investorvillage.com/index.asp?
I'm probably going to add PAA and NS to my portfolio.I found PAA through Paul Allen's holdings... no wonder he holds this, he banks millions a year!
It stands for Master Limited Partnership. These are not dividends. They are cash distributions from a partnership.
Thanks for the reply! :)So... PAA gives cash distributions instead of dividends?
