Don't let your wife and children think they are in a safe reliable product, they are not. Honda has an ongoing problem they try to profit from by denial of warranty and charging to replace the transmission after warranty expires regardless of when you brought up the problem. Honda has no ethics whatsoever.
Not a short, a ripped off Honda Odyssey owner.
What are you talking about? I am a mechanic and I service Honda motor cars. I have not seen a transmission failure since a 1995 civic dx.
Your nothing but a bunch of complainers!
Suck it in chump!
Had same problem with my Odyessy. They did replace the transmission after warranty ended, but then the new transmission failed again. I learned that it was a rebuilt transmission NOT NEW. And the rebuilt transmission warranty just expired - so after the 2nd one failed, Honda basically said you are on your own.
Honda has MAJOR issues and is screwing their customers, many of whom will never buy Honda again and will tell their friends to never buy a Honda because Honda does not stand behind their product yet wants to charge a price that one would think its quality, which it is not.
Honda is now running FALSE ADVERTISING on TV claiming the great deals are the only thing that wont last from Honda. Not true, your transmission wont last either, not to mention your motor mounts that will break.
Check out the video near the bottom of this site dedicated to Honda Odyssey transmission failures. Apparently this 2005 Odyssey burned down the owners house.
Why I will never buy another Honda, mainly because Honda is not taking care of my problem I complained about during the warranty period:
My advice to anyone considering a Honda, DON”T BUY A HONDA, they are not an honorable company and they are doing everything they can to avoid fixing customers vehicles that have failed due to Honda’s poor design.
I complained at 30,000 miles, well within warranty, of my vehicle whining at 55-60 mph steady throttle that went away soon as I lifted my foot off the throttle. It was not fixed and does it still.
I was pretty much stone walled and blown off by the service manager at Honda of Ft. Myers and told since it set no codes they could do nothing. I told them at that time it was likely the transmission. Last week it finally set off the code that officially points to transmission failure. Total denial by the dealer and Honda. Honda is refusing to honor their warranty for a problem I complained about during the warranty period. The complaints about Honda automatic transmission failures are everywhere on the internet, it’s a known design problem and serious safety issue Honda is passing off on the owners. What will it cost Honda when someone killed?
Complaints about Honda transmission are everywhere and Honda is not taking responsibility for their faulty design. What’s a mystery to most of is why they fix some customers vehicles and attempt to “blow off” others.
A quote from respected engine/transmission rebuilder Jasper specifically about my 2003 Honda Odyssey:
“NOTE: Due to overheating & bluing of the torque converter from the
insufficient OE cooling system, 100% of these units will include the
required transmission cooler (P/N LPD4490). Installation instructions
will be included along with the unit & cooler.
Jasper updates the OEM converter's poor design by adjusting the
clearance and updating with a new Kevlar friction lining.”
Unbelievable how many people Honda is treating badly. I can tell you my experience is so similar to these it is clear to me these are very real cases and not internet trolls or shills. Honda has obviously put together a team of denial people who are trained to screw you.
