MF Global's portfolio, more than anything else, improved over the past week. Even if you can get a fraction of the valuation on it, you as a shareholder will be vastly better off. The fact that there are multiple parties making competing bids and the fact that the assets can be sold in piecemeal make the scenario totally different from, say, Lehman.
absolutely. MF is exactly the kind of corporation which can be sold in a weekend. it's a very simple dichotomy of liquid assets with established, daily values and a worldwide, grandfathered presence on all futures/commodities exchanges.
