I do not think I am important. I think my customers are and I treat them like I would like to be treated. If Macy's were to close I could go elsewhere with my positive attitude.Besides I am cute and cuddlie! :O)
A gal I used to work with had one of those, big time.
I asked her what the definition was and she answered:
"Acting important for no apparent reason."
Keep it up, cds1macys, and you won't have to ever worry about customers again because you will be unemployed!
I have worked for 2 commissioned department stores in the midwest and there are several departments where you can make that much money and more. This is why people are posting about being upset by the $6.00 an hour wage and about losing commission.
Have any of you looked into Furniture?
Crate & Barrel furniture staff make 24 to 50k
Haverty's has a range of 30 k to over 75k
with some stores with individuals making over 125K ...unusual but they are there.

Robb & Stuckey
Room & Board
cds1macys, can I ask what department you work in? We are hearing that Macy's does not pay commission. I am in Macy's North, which has yet to finish the conversion. Several of our associates are on commission now.
Thanks for anything you can share.
