FD is going no where! The only way it increases profit is to cut expenses and not by growing sales. That's why FD's customer service sucks, because it keeps cutting sales help to reduce expenses, and thus alienating the customer more and more. And management doesn't have a clue as to how to turn this HOG around. The upscale customer is steadily heading to the doors of Saks, Nordstroms, Neimans, etc. and the low end customer is heading to Gap. A business can't be built on only Jones, Claiborne, Tommy and Ralph - which is what FD is doing. And FD's highly hyped private label program is tanking more and more each quarter.
