Institutional and Pharma interest in ONCY is very low. For example, if Pfizer, or Merc, thought ONCY was a big deal, they would be buying the heck out of it. If Institutions thought ONCY was on the verge of shooting to 20, 30 or 100 dollars per share, they would be buying the heck out of it. The fact is that ONCY is not on or high on institutional or pharma investing scopes. As a result, short sellers are having a panacea with this obscure company.
It is crystal clear why the price is not moving - there is no convincing P3 data yet.
Show the P3 data with a meaningful shift in PFS , tumor size, shrinkage, or anything that says this treatment is for real. Then and only then will the price move up and move big-time.....
I certainly agree acuity appears to be the shareprice manipulator. And that the underlying purpose is accumulation. But I am far less sure than you that a Connecticut moneyrunner would feel he was voting against his own interests if he sold at $50 - $60 stock he acquired at $4 or $5.
In my opinion as more and more positive data comes in the likelihood of a low ball buyout decreases. I think we are already at that point. If there were a buyout offer made the company has time to respond and to release more information. As randomized phase II and III data comes in the true worth of the company becomes more evident. If someone made a low-ball buyout offer, ONC/ONCY would reject it, they would advise their shareholders not to accept it, they would release more information supporting a higher buyout price, and other knowledgeable pharmas would submit higher offers. I don't think 50%+ shareholders would sell out for a low price when they see other eager purchasers around. We can always stoke our fears with one scary scenario or another, but I think the more realistic outcome is competitive bidding resulting in a reasonable buyout price.
I am sure many will vote at $50-60,if there was uncertainty, however IMO this is going to be a fast moving story once first approval is in the bag. $50-60 level will be a dust cloud in the rear mirror if approval is reached before a raid. Then the big story will be the panc and lung promise. And that will really fire up traders imagination and salivary glands.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
"For example, if Pfizer, or Merc, thought ONCY was a big deal, they would be buying the heck out of it."
'They' would only "be buying the heck out of it" only if they are able to partner with ONCY, and the only way that 'they' will be able to partner, is if those companies are willing to "pony up" and "buy in" at a share price that is more than fair to ONCY shareholders, some who have supported ONCY as angel shareholders, for 12 years and longer. It goes without saying that ONCY's long-term shareholders have 'locked-up" their shares until such time that a "fair price" is offered by one of ONCY's potential suitors for just a part of the company.
