the rumors are starting to have the ring of truth....
Proof Dateline has the story.
In an email...
"Your recent email to Bill Griffeth was forwarded to me. I'm the Dateline producer working on the story you mentioned. There's nothing nefarious at work here: The story is complicated, the reporting takes time, and the program is not ready to air yet. I will gladly email you and let you know when it's put on the schedule.
In the meantime, I would like to speak with you about the 'rank-and-file investors and small businesses' you mentioned that are currently suffering as a result of naked shorting. I'm interested in specific examples you can share with me of companies currently being targeted by unscrupulous broker-dealers and/or investment banks -- particularly if you know of ones not connected to the O'Quinn et al lawsuits. Are you available tomorrow
afternoon?
Thanks,
Sharon Hoffman
Producer, Dateline NBC"
And as they say in the Artic Circle, ..."it's just the tip of the iceberg".... . The amount of cash that has been siphoned off with hedge fund activities and naked shorting is estimated in the TRILLIONS of dollars. We'll never know the full extent. But I would be pleased just to see the criminals in hand cuffs, brought out into the light of day, and exposed for the felons that they truly are in a court room full of small investors with all their thumbs pointing downward...ala Roman empire style with the judge and jury asking what the punishment should be for their crimes. If the momentum of the story begs for wider scrutiny, perhaps there's a chance we'll see justice.
I suggest that HHILL handle this one.
Dear Cinemo2001
I would send this information to Sharon Hoffman, Producer, DatelineNBC myself but I do have her email or ph. The SEC web site has numerous letters on file from investors citing examples of losses due to naked short selling. The Dateline producer may have already visited this site but in case she has not, here is the address.
Please go to:
hxxp://www.sec.gov/rules/proposed/s72303
(replace xx with tt)
These letters are in reply to the SEC request for public review and comment of proposed SHO rules governing short sales. There are several standard letter replies along with unedited original letters from interested parties in very important and powerful positions.
Hope this helps. Good luck.
But when is this going to break? Have you all noticed that the magazine programs frequently have similar stories? Maybe Dateline needs some "competition" to encourage them to light the fuse on this rocker/rocket while they are still out in front.
Shouldn't hhill or others try to contact her?
that email was received by the poster in May 04
maybe we should try to get NFI on the Dateline story with the April takedown...
NBC is owned by GE
GE, IMO, doesn't care a rat's tail about Rocker, Herb, Cohodes, etc.
