NYSE specialist, in the name of providing an orderly market can naked short (is required to) if there is too much buying pressure.... Here's what makes it amazing --- there is 0% margin capital required for this activity, meaning *any* amount of buying can be equaled with selling, plus another 100 shares, by the Specialist.

My question is what advantage do we get being on the NYSE. Maybe we should ask manangement to
move to the Nasdaq? Why should we be making money for someone that legally has the right to manipulate and short the stock, go up and go down to steal the stops? Isn't this like shooting ourselves in the toe?

    • I believe the short squeeze will force itself, when the shorts get tired of paying us dividends.

Once one short starts to cover, the "manufactured" shares start to vaporize.

There are at least 33 million shares held by people who want to hold NFI. The company has only issued 25 million shares. To cover, the shorts have to SCARE out 8 million shares. I don't scare easily!

    • Thank you Mr. Hill. So I got it, it is really not easy to have squeeze short in NYSE. But is this fair??

I do not get it. Can you kindly explain to me Mr.Hill ? Thank you.

    • <Another thing is do you really think it will have short squeeze?>

No, I said I was giving up on the idea of a short squeeze because the short (dark) forces can throw shares at the price to hold it down to whatever level they need...assuming of course they can still afford to pay the dividends...because the number of short shares are virtually unlimited.

No; we are at the mercy of the short interest and the dividend. The larger both become the better off we will be. Pray for $2 in Q2. Maybe $1.45 plus a $0.55 special. Wouldn't that frost the short's shorts?

    • The div will do it. I agree with HHill, the shorts completely misjudged the fundamentals of the business of this company and hence its underlying strength.

    • But if you are fully invested, what can you do? Another thing is do you really think it will have short squeeze? I do not think so if the stock price won't bounce to a certain level there will be no short squeeze.
