The Motley Fool is a great service. Anyone who buys their picks as soon as they are reced is just plain stupid. Do your own DD, pick good enrty points on the ones like, ignore the ones you don't. Has worked for me many times. There are some very intelligent people there and some idiots, just like anywhere else. Get to the know the difference and make some $$$. Well worth the cost, imo.
No position in exel at this time just watching.
Beware of these "stock advisors", especially when their comments pop up on established finance sites e.g. Yahoo Finance. MF did have bad press a few years back for PUMP&DUMP activities. They appeal to the greed & fear of people and this usually is a bad base for decision making.
Many of their recommendations did perform well. But as many go bust and when that happens their coverage slows down and you are left alone in the dark ... with that sinkin` feeling.

They will let recommendations sinck to levels that no one in their right mind would keep
, if on their own. It is just a sophisticated scam as many others. If ones FA at Goldman,
Dean Witter, Merril Lynch etc .. cannot do it with the help of their CFadvisors who are getting paid millions , why would two silly fools with Caps on be the savin grace ?
Trust me their Caps are RED with tiny, tiny specks of green...
I agree that just taking advice from stock advisors is a very lazy way to go. In marketing materials, they always cherry pick to show the stocks they really hit, but inevitably fail to disclose the many others that went the other way. Best of luck to all.
Hey Bud, just wait for 3-5 years like they say ... to see if it works out for you.
P.S. I guess you shouldn't be investing in MF Newsletters if you're elderly and only have a limited life-span left.
Why waste time on lousy investments , especially one is young? Who has 3 year to waste to see a dud at the end of the road. MF winners are usually everyone elses winners... no need to spend money for that. These guys have no sense of anything, they cannot even be decent judges of the market environment and lead all the flock to the ditch + if you are somewhat intuitive you can figure out their select picks on their free service!!!
