It depends upon when you acquired the shares (and hence the price). If you have 500 shares purchased above $10/share, I'm certainly not jealous. If you were able to get 500 shares at under $5/share, you would be up perhaps $1.50/share, or $750. The return is probably better in percent terms than in real dollars since $750 in the big picture is a rather small investment and profit.
I guess I'm not jealous any wya you slice it. If the share price were to rocket to $50/share (don't hold your breath for the forseeable future IMO), you'd still need a greated share number to make things really impressive.
