Cabo /Abraxane combo treats NSCLS stge IV.

Just happened to run across a patient who is using Cabo in combo with Abraxane, treatment for 6 weeks using Abraxane and 2 weeks with Cabo showed no tumors in scans. No evolving pulmonary nodules or masses were seen, no plural effusion was observed either. For a treatment in Non-small lung cancer, this treatment have shown unbelievably progress with a patient with stage IV lung Cancer. The treating Oncologist was pleased with treatment.

    • Cabozantinib and Abraxane would seem like a good idea for certain metastatic malignancies, but alas, clinicaltrials.gov has no such trial. I think than oncodoc is correct; the patient you describe with stage Iv lung cancer is most probably on carboplatin and abraxane and not on cabozantinib and abraxane.

    • Do you have a link...are you sure it wasn't "Carbo" as in Carboplatin; which we use all the time with Abraxane.

      • Oncodoc, I chatted with the patient and it was explained as Cabo, I am not sure if there is another treatment named Carbo. I really just heard the words Cabo aS how it was explained to me. Also I remembered that Cabo was in combo treatment so I didn't question the Patient's ability on their spelling. Maybe you might have a much better Idea than I do or the patient. Sometime people get mixed up on names and spelling. I just reported what I heard. Thanks, hope to hear more from you if you found out anything else. Thanks again.
