Any idea what price KOG would bring in a buyout....eom
Here is my question.
If indeed KOG closes 2012 with BOPD in the 25,000+ range, would it not on its own boast a stock price comparable to what we see with Oasis Petroleum in 1Q/2013? I'd have to believe we'd be in the neighborhood.
Also, is it possible we could be looking to expand acerage for additional drilling prospects in 2013/2014?
PS: I'm also long on a couple of very small cap oil companies - TECO.PK and DEJ. Anybody got a feel for where those two are going? Thanks!
Shares outstanding is a big difference b/w OAS and KOG. I like looking at Brigham right before buyout and compare to Kodiaks upcoming guidance. It won't take long for Kodiak ramp up production to Brigham production levels at buyout. Once difference though is Brigham having more net acreage and also less shares outstanding--180million vs Kogs 260 million.
I strongly believe Kodiak can get to $30-40 in two years barring fracking regulation and unforeseen setbacks or shares issuance.
Hey thanks for the insight. Really appreciate that. And glad to be LONG in KOG. I dumped shares of SSN to up my stake in KOG actually. Still thinking about getting back in to SSN, but I thought adding more KOG in the 8.80's was too good to pass up.
